Bowling!!

This afternoon we went bowling with our friends. All week I had been practicing with Kayleigh on how to bowl. She has her own little plastic bowling pens and ball. Our practice times weren't very successful since she would throw the ball over handed and then run up and kick the pins she missed with the ball! When we got to the bowling alley she had a blast. She helped me bowl and she actually got a good enough spin on one of the balls to make it all the way down to knock some pins over! She was really excited. We had a great time and ended our night with some pizza.

Zeb just hung out mostly and drooled while we bowled.

Here we are at the restaurant. Zeb was asleep. He was exhausted from the day.

Family Reunion

This past summer my family attended a family reunion. I actually keep up with some of my distant cousins so I was really sad not to be able to make it. They made t-shirts for everyone including us even though we couldn't make it. Zeb's shirt was the only one that would fit in one of those envelopes that my mom's sends to us every once in a while. The t-shirt was supposed to be a 12 month size but I'm not so sure about that!

Check out this gut and the slobber! I'm not exactly sure how my son manages to stay hydrated through out the day with all the drooling he does.

Doctor Visit

I know we haven't posted in a while. Our whole family has been under the weather so it has put me behind in blogging for a couple of days but we are back. The other day I took Zeb and Kayleigh to the doctor. Zeb needed his 4 month shots and Kayleigh needed her 2 year old check up. I know Kayleigh turned 2 in June but better late than never right?! Well, the doctor's visit was quite an adventure. First of all that morning when I opened Kayleigh's door I realized that she threw up in the middle of the night and then slept in it. That was just a wonderful way to start my day. We got to the doctor and I decided to start with Kayleigh since I knew Zeb would be crying after his shots. Kayleigh is very weary of doctors and even got a little scared when he wanted to measure her height! Kayleigh weighs 13.5 kgs which about 29.7 pounds! No wonder I feel like I am going to break my back when I carry her up our stairs. A little fact for those you that don't know that Kayliegh has a rather large head. It is now 51cm. To give you a comparison our doctor's head is 55cm! I know this because he wanted to measure his head against Kayleigh's Yes folks she is two and her head is almost as big has her doctors! Kayleigh's check up went really well and she is very healthy. Before I give you the stats on Zeb I thought I would have you take a look at these pictures below to see if you can guess his weight.

Well, I hope you guessed on the heavier side. He weighs 18 pounds! Yes I am not joking. He is 98% in weight, 88% in head ( which is smaller than his sister at this point in the game) and 88% in height/length. In the doctor's words "it is safe to say he is an all around big guy"! I guess I am destined to have big children. They may be big but they are so cute too!

Home Sweet Home

This past weekend we went to a nearby city. We had a great time with all of our friends especially the ones we don't get to see very often. We spent 3 nights in a hotel which can be very trying with little ones but it was a good time. I was so ready to get home on Monday night because I was so tired. We had to ride a bus and then get on a plane to get home. When we got on the bus to leave Kayleigh looked at me and said "Momma no home!" You think Kayleigh is going to be as social as her momma?! She didn't want to go home because she was having too much fun. However, her parents had had enough fun for one weekend. Below are some great pictures from the weekend.

Kayleigh and her good friends Julianna and Bright are playing with the jump rope.

Kayleigh decided to take a break for a snack.

Zeb just hanging out with the others.

Daddy's Hair Needs Attention!!!

I laid down in Kayleigh's lap this afternoon and she proceeded to get her hairbrush and comb my hair. I think she loved the practice, as she has started to imitate her mommy when she is doing her hair. So, Kayleigh thought she would make daddy look beautiful by brushing my hair. She is the most interesting little girl, and by all means, she is all girl. I ocationally get the lipstick treatment from her when she has her pocketbook close at hand.

Thanks for the hair brushing Kayleigh. I really needed it!

Playing in the Tent

We recently aquired a tent for Zeb to sleep in when we travel so we won't have to take the blasted Pak-In-Play where ever we go. Today I set it up so that we could see what it looks like and as soon as it was up, Kayleigh was inside playing and rumbling in the tent. She brought her baby, her water, and other various sundry items into the tent as if it was her little personal playground. When I zipped it up she got scared and told me to open the "knock knock". She calls any door, of any type a knock knock. Pretty smart for a 2 year old.

Kayleigh, Zeb and the Floor

Today Kayleigh and Zeb woke up in good moods and they descided they wanted to play on the floor, well Zeb always plays on the floor, Kayleigh just wanted to join him. Here are a few pictures of our beautiful little loves. God has certainly blessed us with two healthy children. Zeb continues to slobber through about two to three outfits a day! He constantly has a bib on even though he is not eating. We love him so much.

Breakin Green Beans

The other night I decided to have Kayleigh help me make dinner. We were having green beans and I thought it might be fun for her to break them with me. Check out this face! It looks like it took all her might to get this bean to break in half! She actually had a great time and wanted to break more even when we were finished. For those of you that have been wondering how the potty training has been going well it hasn't. Zeb's nap schedule has been really off lately with lots of crying so I have decided to put the potty training on hold until we can get him on a more normal schedule. My other mom friends that have gone through the potty training experience have shared with me that it takes 100% of my concentration. So I just moved Kayleigh to the XXL diapers. I vowed I would not ever put her in this size because I was determined to potty train her before then. I mentioned to John that the XXL diapers come in smaller packs and were more expensive. John said it was the diaper company trying to tell me that it was time to potty train! More on that when it actually happens.

In all fairness I thought I would include a picture of Zeb. I feel like we mostly show you pictures of Kayleigh probably because Zeb still doesn't do much but lay around and laugh at Kayleigh. I thought this was a cute picture of him. For most of his life he hasn't taken a passy until some friends of ours sent us this one. He really likes resting his finger in the loop.

Friends for Dinner

We had our friends Brooke and Aaron over for dinner last night. They have a little boy named Nathan. Kayleigh and Nathan play really well together. Nathan has a birthday coming up soon. For his birthday they are going to ride a real train. Ever since Brooke gave me the invitation Kayleigh has said everyday that she is going to ride the train with Nathan. She is so excited! Since his party is several weeks away I told her one day that we were not going to ride it today. Her reply was "tomorrow". Luckily, she doesn't have any concept of when tomorrow will come. Below they are watching the movie "Cars". Kayleigh really likes that movie and she wanted to share it with Nathan. You can see they were glued to the t.v.

Zeb is 4 months

Zeb is 4 months old now. I just can't believe it. I thought time flew with Kayleigh but with your second child it goes even faster. I remember when I wanted Kayleigh to go every four hours between feedings and thought that it would take her forever to get to that point. Zeb is almost there and it seems like yesterday that I was in Thailand giving birth to him. He is more interactive these days. He watches Kayleigh's every move. My favorite thing about him lately is when I change his clothes he just laughs because he is so ticklish. He just came down with a really bad cold and cough. We would love some prayers for him to get better. We travel this weekend and I really don't want him to be so sick on the airplane.

Isn't he just the cutest thing you have ever seen? I might be a little bias.
