A Die Hard Sports Fan

Below is a picture of Zeb watching an NFL game at John's computer. Every time John watches sports on his computer Zeb yells "games"! He loves to watch sports with his dad. I am pretty sure he will become a huge sports fan just like his daddy. John and I hope of course that he will become a big fan of the Tarheels. One of the biggest die hard Carolina fans I have ever met was my great uncle. My family used to own a pig farm and when we had power outages they had to run generators for the pigs. One time during a power outage a Carolina game was on. My uncle packed up his t.v. and went down to the farm to watch the Carolina game with the pigs! Now that is some true dedication. If I remember correctly he even won tickets to a Carolina game when there was a contest on the radio for naming the strangest place you had ever watched a game. I'm pretty sure that ranks pretty high up there. Well, little Zeb I know your daddy's heart is so proud that you already love "games" and will probably sit and watch them with him in the future.

Zeb This Post Is For You!

Zeb, when we came to America in May the doctors told us that your head was misshapen and that you needed to wear a band/helmet for several months. I was of course worried about how you were going to react to it and if your sleeping was going to be effected. God is so good! You have adjusted to it so well. Now when we take it off you look at us really funny when you realize it isn't on your head. After almost a month of wearing your band your head has moved a total of 4 millimeters which is very impressive for your age according to the doctors. We are praying that your head will return to the shape it should be before we leave in August. We see God healing your head so quickly which is a huge answer to prayers. When you are older you will probably never remember wearing this band. We thought it would be fun to get it painted and keep it for memory sake when you are older. As soon as the doctors placed it on your head your daddy thought you looked like a football player and that is where our idea of getting you a Tarheels painting was born. You love to beat your head on things now because it doesn't hurt. I am fearful of what will happen when you don't wear the band anymore. I am foreseeing some pretty bad bruises. I love you so much and think you look so cute in your band!

Highlights from the week.

As May 8th quickly approaches we are trying to spend some quality time with our friends here before we leave for 3 months. The kids and I have started to have a weekly picnic with our friends the Rupps as well as Marianne and Sarah. I have yet to remember to bring my camera outside to take pictures of this event. Hopefully this week I will remember. Other than that not much has happened around here. We are certainly enjoying the spring weather and spending every minute we can outside. Below are some pictures to highlight our week.

We found Zeb playing in the crock pot box in John's office. He apparently really likes to play in this box.

When I was in elementary school we used to play the parachute game. John has decided to create his own parachute game with the kids. They both lie on the bed while John throws the blanket up and down on top of them. Zeb just screams in delight! He loves this game. Above is Kayleigh playing the game with Zeb. Below, John is in charge which means there was lots of laughter and kicking!

Kayleigh found her Dad's tarheel hat and decided to wear it. She calls everything with UNC on it "Go Heels!" So for instance she will ask me..."Mommy can I wear my "Go Heels!" shirt today? I think it is so cute. We have trained her well.
