Picnic Time!

About a week ago we had a picnic with my friends Erin Ashley and Marianne. Erin Ashley just recently returned from America. It was so good to see her and catch up. Her daughter, Emma Grace and Kayleigh have lots of fun together. The kids had a great time running around and laughing. We ended up setting up the picnic at a hotel to get away from the crowd of people. Kayleigh and Emma Grace got a little too close to the sprinklers and got a little wet! We had a great time.

Here we are with all three strollers, two of them are double strollers!

Zeb hanging out on the blanket. A picnic with Zeb means that I fight to keep him from eating other people's food that he actually doesn't have the ability to eat yet even though he tries.

Highlights from the week.

As May 8th quickly approaches we are trying to spend some quality time with our friends here before we leave for 3 months. The kids and I have started to have a weekly picnic with our friends the Rupps as well as Marianne and Sarah. I have yet to remember to bring my camera outside to take pictures of this event. Hopefully this week I will remember. Other than that not much has happened around here. We are certainly enjoying the spring weather and spending every minute we can outside. Below are some pictures to highlight our week.

We found Zeb playing in the crock pot box in John's office. He apparently really likes to play in this box.

When I was in elementary school we used to play the parachute game. John has decided to create his own parachute game with the kids. They both lie on the bed while John throws the blanket up and down on top of them. Zeb just screams in delight! He loves this game. Above is Kayleigh playing the game with Zeb. Below, John is in charge which means there was lots of laughter and kicking!

Kayleigh found her Dad's tarheel hat and decided to wear it. She calls everything with UNC on it "Go Heels!" So for instance she will ask me..."Mommy can I wear my "Go Heels!" shirt today? I think it is so cute. We have trained her well.

Picnic at the Park

The Saturday before last we decided to pack up the kids and some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and head to the park. It was a lot of fun. Saturdays are usually our family day. It is always nice to take a break from our normal routine and go have some fun. This park is unique in that it has some rides that you would normally see at a fair. Kayleigh loves any chance to hang out with her friends Bright and Zion and we love to hang out with their parents! We had a great time and even had an audience at times.

This was for the 2008 Olympics. We thought it was quite impressive.

Not quite sure what kind of face I am making there. I think I might have had food in my mouth!

This park is on a lake that you would have to pay me a million dollars to swim in but it makes for a beautiful view!
