We are officially moved in! This will be our first night in our new home. Since John had to jump right into work, for the most part, I was only able to go unpack our house at night. We have had a few people watch the kids so I could get a big chunk of unpacking done. Our dear friends Matt and Laura helped us out in a big way on Sunday. Laura took all 7 kids ( her 4, my 3) and watched them while John, Matt and I worked hard to make our house livable so we could move in this week. We still have quite a few boxes to unpack but the beds are made and I have a workable kitchen which means we can live here. So glad to be finally moved in.

Polar Ocean World
This weekend we had some friends come in for a wedding. We are still staying at the Todd's house so it makes for a full house with lots of fun! Our friends were planning on going to an amusement park that is a lot like Sea World. I have never actually been to Sea World but would imagine it is very similar. When they asked if we wanted to go with them I had to think twice about it. Since we moved here John has had to jump right into work which means I would be taking three kids to an amusement park by myself. Am I insane? I must be because I decided to go! We had a blast! The kids absolutely loved it. I must say the dolphin show was very impressive. By the end of the day we were all exhausted. I really hope to go back sometime but next time WITH John.

Making ourselves at home

We Made It!
We made it safely to our new home. Well sort of. We are actually staying in a friends apartment until our stuff arrives. John met the remodeling guy today to make sure he will finish painting our house and the other odds and ends we wanted done before our furniture gets here. Our furniture gets here on Wednesday. I honestly am looking forward to a couple of days of rest. We have been going so hard for so long that it will be a nice break. Crazy as it may seem. My dear friend Laura dropped her daughter off today to spend the night with us for the night. Julianna is Kayleigh's best friend. Kayleigh had requested that she spend the night with us one night for her birthday. What better night than the first night in our new city?!
Below is a picture of Kayleigh and Zeb saying goodbye to 502. We did a final walk through yesterday to make sure there wasn't anything left behind. It was weird to walk through there with nothing in it. I think it helped the kids realize what was really happening though.

Kayleigh is a 1st grader!
She did it! Kayleigh finished kindergarden today! She is officially a 1st grader. I am so proud of her. She did wonderful this year and learned so much. I also feel a sense of accomplishment that I made it through my first year of home school. There were some tough times but overall I loved it and enjoyed seeing Kayleigh grow and learn. I wanted to finish before we moved and we did! Even if it was the day before we get on the airplane. Now we are looking forward to a crazy summer of moving into a new home with hopefully lots and lots of swimming!

We have moved out
Today we moved into our friends the Smith's home for our last couple of days in our city. I just walked out of our house and closed the door. Everything looks the same though. I took this picture of Layla just this morning. She was dressing up with Kayleigh. It doesn't seem that our kids should be dressing up and acting as though everything is normal when we are supposed to move tomorrow. But they were. Tomorrow morning a big crew of guys will go into my house and pack everything in boxes. The only thing I packed was the clothes we needed to wear in our new city until our stuff got there. I like this way of moving. They do all the hard stuff and I just make sure my family gets to our new location.
The next couple of days will be full of tying up lose ends, having dinners with friends and saying good-byes.

Happy 6th Birthday Kayleigh!
Our Saturday, although crazy, was a success. We sold quite a lot of stuff at our sale and were really pleased with the turn out. Then in the afternoon it was off to the pool. Zeb's birthday party was such a success that we decided to do a repeat with Kayleigh's birthday. Kayleigh LOVES to swim and would probably have never dreamed of picking anywhere else to have her party. She would live at the pool all the time if we would let her. Her party was so fun and it was a sweet way for us to all spend some time with our friends before we leave next Friday.
I can't believe I have a 6 year old daughter. Time has really flown by. Kayleigh is so kind, gentle, and loving. I am so blessed to be her mother.

Our Last Weekend
We are coming up on our last weekend here and it is going to be a crazy busy one! Friday night our friends are throwing us a little good-bye party in the courtyard. I have spent the past month going through all of our stuff deciding if things were going to make or break the "cut" of moving to our new city with us. I have a huge pile of stuff we want to get rid of so on Saturday morning we are having a sale at our house. It actually feels nice to get rid of some things. A fresh new start in our city with less stuff sounds good to me. To make Saturday just a little bit more crazy we are throwing Kayleigh a birthday party on Saturday afternoon. My little girl turns 6 on Sunday and we thought a birthday party might be a good way for Kayleigh to spend some fun time with her friends before we leave. Also, my goal is to somehow finish our first homeschool year before we leave! Not sure if I can do it with all the craziness but I am certainly going to try!
