Rice and Other Things

In an effort to keep my little ones busy in the morning I am always looking for activities for them to do. My friend Laura had a great idea for them to play with dry rice. They love it! They will spend about 45 mins filling cups with rice, measuring rice, using cookie cutters to make shapes and pouring rice through funnels. I am so thankful I have a balcony because lots of the rice ends up on the floor. Especially, when Zeb gets bored and just starts dumping it on the floor.

Lately, Kayleigh has been saying some funny things. First of all she still thinks you can get small again. I was recently pulling out her old clothes for a friend of mine and she asked when she gets small again if she can wear them. I try and try to explain to her that you only get bigger and older but I'm not sure if that concept has sunk in yet. Sometimes however she gets it. The other day she told me that she thinks when she is 21 she will be able to ride her bike without training wheels. I assured her that she was right!

Making Memories

Some of our very dear friends Andy and Erin Ashley are leaving East Asia and moving back to America. I don't even know how to process this. They have been here since we got here and I don't really know life here without them. I have moments when I just cry when I think about them leaving and then moments when I just feel numb because I can't fathom them not being here. A couple of weeks ago several of us got together to celebrate the "Huffman's". We decided to take them on this massive Ferris wheel that is so high that you can see the whole city. After that we walked around the park and then we were off to dinner at a Japanese steak house. We followed our awesome dinner (which has the best steaks in town) with some ice cream. We spent most of the night sharing memories and funny stories that we had about the Huffman's. It was a lot of fun and a time I will never forget.

This was the entrance to the Ferris wheel. Not exactly the thing you want to see before you ride!

All the ladies at the very top. Notice the awesome view of the city in the background.

Random chairs we found in the park. We each told a story about the Huffman's as we sat there.

Kayleigh's New Tricks

Not much has been happening around the Greene house today. I did want to share a story from the other day though. Kayleigh's new thing is to give everyone a high five. Since this isn't a custom in Asia sometimes she gets some unusual looks when she raises her hand at people. The other day we were in a taxi and she started to give John and I a high five. She loves big trucks and there was one behind us in the taxi. She kept raising her hand wanting the driver to give her high five. We couldn't seem to explain to her that he wasn't going to get out of his truck to come give her a high five. She is a funny little one! We enjoy watching her personality come out more and more everyday. It is also fun for John because he can teach her news tricks all the time!
