Trick or Treat and some sickness

Last night all the kids in and around our complex got dressed up and went trick or treating in our neighborhood. Of course in Asia trick or treating isn't a normal custom so one of my friends went around to all the local shops and told them that children would come into their shops dressed up and they would need to give them candy. She gave them the candy to give out of course. When you have to stop and explain trick or treating to someone that has never heard of it before you begin to realize that this custom of ours is rather strange. The plan was for all of my children to go but that was not to be.

A week or so ago Zeb woke up and told me he no longer wanted to eat because his throat hurt so bad. I of course realized this might be a problem and got a flashlight to check out his throat. It looked bad, really bad. So I took him the doctor thinking it was probably strep. Oh no, it was hand, foot, and mouth disease! After freaking out for a moment, the doctor assured me we didn't have to be evacuated again that it was a virus that just had to run it's course. However, he told me the virus is very contagious and that Zeb couldn't be around anyone until he was better. Of course right when Zeb was almost over his virus, Kayleigh got it. Then you guessed it, Layla got it too. So we haven't seen to many people in the past two weeks or so because we have been in hiding to keep anyone else from getting it.

So back to my trick or treating story. I had really high hopes that Kayleigh would be over her virus for last night's trick or treat festivities but she wasn't. She was so very sad. I felt so bad for her. So the mom in charge promised that she would make a bag of candy just for Kayleigh since she didn't get to come. That seemed to ease the pain some! So I was able to take Zeb and he had a blast. Below are a few pictures of the night.
